Nice is such a beautiful city to live, stay and visit! You will have no difficulties to find a place where to eat!
Except now, as I am writing this article in the middle of the Coronavirus crisis… when all the world’s cities look like “ghost towns”!
After a long time at home, seeing no-one, I am sure you will be so excited to commit and travel! This is great, as tourism, food, and hospitality industries will need your support more than ever. But for now, we must stay at home and dream about the sun, beaches, drinks with friends and breakfast! Yes, breakfast, the most important meal of the day, and one of my favorite friends’ rendezvous!
Happy to share with you my favorite brekkie places in Nice!
What can I say about “Marinette Kitchen”?! Check out the Instagram account, it speaks for itself!
It is the local niçoise address to go, located in the old town, the place looks amazing with the vintage “boulangerie” facade, old-style colorful tiles, and the big wooden sharing table!
In the showcase, everything is planned to seduce you and make you lose your summer body challenge! Angel cake with red fruit and cream, clafoutis, cookies, meringues, chocolate cake to share or not … This place is so foodporn!
At Marinette Kitchen, you can have your breakfast, lunch, or snack in the afternoon
Breakfast is served from 8 am to 11 am with a delicious set menu composed of: A freshly squeezed orange juice or a lemonade, an Expresso or American coffee, Yogurt and homemade granola with honey (I could kill for it) and homemade pancakes (topped with red fruits, maple syrup or filled with Nutella).
+ TIPS: on weekends, go early to make sure you have a table! (they do not take reservations).
Lunch is served from 12 pm to 4 pm, with an a la carte lunch such as poke balls, salads, burrata and ham toast, milanese cutlet, pasta …
Snack is served from 4 pm to 6 pm and it is delicious! Perfect to end your afternoon in nice after a shopping or beach day. My favorite snack ever is the hot cookie dough topped with cream…
Marinette Kitchen is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 8 am to 6 pm.

La Popotte d’Ondine
Ahhh… La Popotte d’Ondine, the healthy vintage heaven where you can brunch every day!
They have been victims of their success; the coffee shop is always full! Happy for us, the loveliest couple opened another address located in the city center!
The interior is nicely decorated with flicked furniture which provides such a cozy atmosphere. The food is all homemade and the menu changes upon season and inspiration. Sweet pancakes, salted pancakes, banana bread, yummy avocado toast, gluten-free cakes, eggs and muffin, the list is long and delicious! The cherry on top, they have great detox drinks and if you are sweet enough, you can get a cute message in your coffee.
La Popote d’Ondine Gioffredo street is open Mondays to Saturdays, from 9 am to 6 pm.
Address: 18 Rue Gioffredo, 06000 Nice
La Popote d’Ondine Blacas street is open Mondays to Sundays, from 9 am to 6 pm.
Address: 2 Rue Blacas, 06000 Nice
The healthy & design address in Nice! Made for the Instagram lover, the Clay could have easily its place in the Milk decoration magazine!
Located in between the “Garibaldi square” and the “place du Pin”, the clay is the cutest brunch place ever. Few seats outside, few seats inside, this lovely restaurant always welcomes you with the best smile and serves from breakfast to afternoon coffee.
They work with local products and it makes the difference. The food is homemade and so tasty, I’d recommend the eggs and the flowery avocado toast…
Clay is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm and on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.
Address: 3 Rue Bonaparte, 06300 Nice
