Let’s make a delicious Sunday breakfast with fresh cherry muffins! Close your eyes and imagine the smell of hot muffins together with the tasty scent of cherries – it is definitely the best Sunday morning treat!
Lucky me, I get my cherries directly from my dad’s garden… It cannot be fresher! I love the fact that my ingredients come from our family garden, otherwise I try to avoid cargo travel as much as possible for the ingredients I use… Probably not the sugar though – at this point, we do not have any sugar cane farms in the south of France…
The cherries – I usually freeze mine so that I can bake them at any season, and it prevents waste! I stone the cherries before putting them in the bag to freeze. I assure you; I always have some fresh cherries to nibble!
Today, I’m sharing my secret recipe of cherry muffins with a crumble topping!

What do we need? All we need is love and:
For 6 muffins
For the muffin batter
90 gr of Flour
30 gr of brown sugar
75 gr of melted butter
1 egg
1 tablespoon of milk
½ teaspoon of baking powder
1 large handful of stoned cherries
For the crumble topping
30 gr of sugar
30 gr of butter
60 gr of flour
Let’s make the muffins!
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a bowl, mix-up all of the muffin ingredients with the help of a spatula, then add the cherries once the texture is smooth enough.

For the crumble topping, combine the flour and sugar in a separate large bowl, then add the butter and crumble with your fingertips until the mixture looks like coarse chunks.
Pour the batter into a muffin tin and top with the crumble.

+ TIPS: be generous with the crumble…
Place the muffins on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 15 to 17 minutes.
Let it cool off for a few minutes before taking the muffins out of the tin.

Last thing to do: BE PROUD OF YOURSELF!
Et bon appétit!
